The Unico Decor team!
Unico Decor Celebrating 10 Years!!!
In 2010 Sebastien Theriault was introduced to me by our project manager, Renée-Claude Robichaud. Sebastien and I have built a very strong working relationship and I knew right away that Sebastien was here to stay. Sebastien has earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at the Université de Moncton and has a strong passion for design, decor and of course administration.
In the 10 years and 1000+ events that we have been helping people to plan and design, we have been lucky to participate in the celebration of some of life’s greatest milestones. Whether it’s a birthday or anniversary celebration, a funeral reception, a party held in a business firm, a fashion show, or a wedding, every single event is a special occasion and a cause for celebration. Because parties mark some of life’s most important moments, ensuring the success of such events is our priority.
There are so many people who have shared this journey with us. We would like to take this opportunity to say a special thank you to my aunt Louise, the first couple that believed in me, the entire Unico team (you guys are AMAZING!), the local vendors and clients that have supported us throughout all these years, our suppliers and of course our family, friends and colleagues.
Looking forward to another 10 years of turning dreams into realities with all of you extraordinary people.
Behind the Scene: What it’s really like…
Everyone knows what happens before the wedding, when you decide what you want and where you want it, the cost of your decor is determined, and we plan together for your big day. You always see the ending of our work, where the lights are lit, the draping is hung, the flowers are set and the party begins. Though, no one has a real understanding to what goes on behind the scenes. The work we do to make your dream come true. Within this industry it is 25% glamour and 75% hard work, you need to have determination and creativity on your side if you want to be successful within this business. At times, it can take longer to set-up then how long the actual event is. Some may think this job is really slack, where we play with glitter and make crafts. In reality, we rarely have the time to sit down because we are making magic into real life.
Brave in Blue
Royal Blue; faith, eternity, loyalty. What bride wouldn’t want their wedding to symbolize something that is everlasting? Everyone wants something exquisite and perfect for them. Adding a dash of blue throughout your wedding is the trend we are trying to convey, why not add irises to your decor to supplement the elegant touch that says ‘’I’m yours to keep forever’’. Take the ‘’something new, something borrowed, something BLUE’’ quote to new lengths.

Shining Bright, Spring 2012.
Spring is all about fresh, soft colours but this season bold and bright seems to be everyone’s ideal starting point! Despite most of the best designer’s dresses showing signs of soft, feminine touches on their pieces, their skirts show plenty of grace and movement. Even if the soft, flowery, typical spring look is in your decor, what girl doesn’t love a little sparkle! Why not add rhinestone bands to spruce up your centerpieces. It’s a perfect way to add a little touch of bling to your Spring wedding.
For a little more sparkle we definitely recommend using glass lanterns with a candle or flowers inside to line the aisle at your ceremony. It adds just the right amount of romance to any outdoor wedding!
Truly Turquoise
How does turquoise make YOU feel? Blues are naturally a calming, cool color but who’s to say that the blues have to be dull and boring! Turquoise is all the rage this season so try sprucing up your room or event with turquoise candle holders and vases. By adding a simple white candle or a floral arrangement complete with even a few peacock feathers, it should be a hit with your guests and a definite conversation starter. These two candle holders and the vase are available for rent at UNICO and would add the perfect touch to any dinner table.
Vintage/Chic Collection
As most of our clients know, UNICO has always been known for gorgeous, contemporary and glamorous designs. Coming into the spring season I am pleased to reveal that we are currently working on an upcoming Vintage/Chic wedding decor collection. While not overtaking our current look, the new vintage collection will allow our new brides the opportunity to use this as inspiration for their wedding. We have already received a few pieces for our display and eagerly wait to unveil it to our clients! This new collection is something we are all very excited about here at UNICO; so take a peek at a few of these pictures we found online as a source of inspiration and maybe you’ll be inspired as well!
These hanging mason jars add just the right touch of vintage chic to any location. Using them as flower pots is an inexpensive way to display your arrangements!

Nothing says vintage chic like simple daisies and baby’s breath. Add them to a jam jar with a touch of burlap and cord and you’ve got yourself a centerpiece! The use of old (well loved) lanterns also adds a nice touch when a candle is placed inside.
